Propel Launches Follow-Up AssistTM to Save PR Professionals Hours in Grunt Work

This first of a kind tool compliments Propel’s suite of Gmail and Outlook tools to give communications professionals more time to do the core of their jobs and improve their workflows.

Tel Aviv, Israel — November 9, 2022 — Propel, the leading PR Management platform (PRM), has announced the release of Follow-Up AssistTM, the newest feature within the Propel Gmail and Outlook Plugins. The tool enables users to schedule their follow up pitches for a campaign in one batch, while maintaining one-to-one pitch customization and personalization.

Communications professionals send out dozens of emails per day to journalists and influencers, and should they not get a response on their first try, they send follow up emails. While many use simple mail merges to send their initial emails all in one go, the follow-ups to those emails must all be sent to each media contact manually, something which involves copying and pasting a generic follow-up template into each individual email. This is a time consuming endeavor, with many communications professionals spending up to six hours per month on this task alone, while opening themselves up to embarrassing mistakes.

Therefore, in an effort to cut down on this grunt work, Propel developed Follow-Up AssistTM. Using this newest tool, public relations professionals can now send follow-ups for a particular pitching campaign with only the click of a button, saving time and increasing efficiency. The emails are sent from the “Drafts” folder, so users can personalize each follow-up. Coupled with Propel’s PitchBoosterTM, PR professionals are able to send their follow-up emails at the optimal time for journalists to open their emails -  all with one click.

“Approximately 87% of pitches are opened within the first two days of being received, many times after a follow-up has been sent,” said Zach Cutler, Founder & CEO of Propel PRM. “With people in communications devoting so much effort to menial, laborious follow-up emails, Propel’s Follow-Up AssistTM will save people in the industry time, freeing them up to focus on the core aspects of PR, such as doing in depth research for the organizations they represent and writing better, more thoughtful pitches. Time is the most precious resource we have, and this tool will enable the people in the industry to manage their time more efficiently.”

*Propel advises PR professionals to send a maximum of one follow up per campaign. If no response is received after one follow up, Propel advises comms pros to move on and not spam any journalist or media professional.
