Here are some of the report highlights:
- The average journalist open rate to podcast pitches in 2022 was 70.27%. The average journalist response rate was 17.12%.
- Both the journalist open and response rate for podcast pitching are remarkably high, relative to the average journalist open and response rate that we tend to see for all pitches over time (open rate is always about 37-40%, response rate is typically 2-4%).
- Media contacts responded to the most podcast pitches on Wednesday. Wednesday was also the most popular day for sending out pitches on the PR side.
- PR people sent the most podcast pitches at 10 a.m. EST and 12 p.m. EST (18.35% and 16.73% of pitches respectively).
